Election Officials Make Surprise Move After Viral Video Claims Trump Vote Went to Harris
In an unexpected twist, officials in Laurel County, Kentucky, pulled a ballot-marking machine from service on Thursday, the first day of early voting, following a viral TikTok video. The clip claims a voter’s selection for Donald Trump was allegedly recorded as a vote for Kamala Harris.

Initially, the Laurel County Clerk’s office dismissed the issue, attributing it to conspiracy theories. However, after the video spread rapidly, County Clerk Tony Brown released a statement on Facebook, confirming that “the issue did occur” but only after multiple attempts to recreate it.
Brown explained that the problem could occur by tapping between candidates’ boxes on the screen. After the Attorney General’s office tested the machine, it was deemed a glitch on the “ballot-marking device”—a machine that allows voters to select their choices before printing a physical ballot for review. Voters are prompted twice to review their selections on the screen before the machine prints their ballot, giving them an opportunity to correct errors. The machine was pulled temporarily but returned to service with a representative from the AG’s office monitoring.
Brown acknowledged the situation as “unfortunate,” assuring voters the issue was resolved. But the timing raises eyebrows, as this incident joins a string of “glitches” that seem to occur only against the Trump camp.
As Election Day approaches, the Laurel County glitch renews concerns around voting integrity and accuracy—an issue that has never been more critical to the American voter.
