During a discussion at the India Today Conclave, former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton found yet another excuse for her 2016 defeat to Donald Trump. Hillary told a packed audience at a conference that ‘white women’ overwhelmingly voted for Donald Trump simply because their husbands forced them to.
And now even Hillary’s former presidential campaign manager in 2008 said that Hillary’s remarks weren’t good for her to say.
Speaking with HLN’s S.E. Cupp, Patti Solis Doyle said she was unable to “sugarcoat” Clinton’s comments.
Doyle said: “Look, this was bad. I can’t sugarcoat it. She was wrong, and clearly, it’s not helpful to Democrats going into the midterms and certainly not going into 2020. She’s put herself in a position where Democrats are going to have to distance themselves from these remarks and distance themselves from her, particularly those Democrats that are running in the states that Donald Trump won.”
Clinton said that because she won certain areas during the 2016 election, it proved she won over people who are “optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward.”
“So I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward, and his whole campaign, Make America Great Again, was looking backwards,“ she said. ”You know, you didn’t like black people getting rights, you don’t like women getting jobs, you don’t want to see that Indian-American succeeding more than you are, whatever your problem is, I’m going to solve it.”
Despite her criticism of Clinton’s comments, Doyle added she was not exactly wrong: “If you unpack it a little bit more and go down a couple of layers down, you know, it is true that cultural issues and issues about race and issues about sexism played a major role in 2016.”
I say let Hillary keep talking. The more she says the fewer people there will be who would vote for her and her party.
This is actually good for us conservatives. It is making the Democratic party look bad. She just needs to get over what happened 18 months ago and quit trying to blame it on everyone else but herself. In the end, it was all her fault!
Now that Democrats are admitting the truth about her, and are turning on her…. do you think she will just go away?
