While Everyone Focuses on James Comey, Trump Signs Executive Order Taking a Hammer to Welfare Leeches

The thing is, I don’t think any Americans have a problem with people being on welfare if they truly need it. And some people really do need it. I have a huge problem with people who use it as their life’s income because they don’t want to work and think it’s ok to keep having kids just so they can stay on welfare. The system needs fixing.

The left has different ideas I will quote Bernie Sanders: “You know, it’s funny. Sometimes American journalists talk about how bad a country is when people are lining up for food. That’s a good thing.” – Bernie Sanders

Well, luckily for us we have President Trump and not President Bernie Sanders.

While the focus of our country is on former FBI Director James Comey and special counsel Robert Mueller and his “witch hunt.” President Trump just did something huge in the fight for welfare reform.

President Donald Trump is mulling over allowing states to drug test some food stamp recipients, AP reports. Currently, states are legally prohibited from enacting their own requirements on recipients, though a reported 20 states have introduced legislation that would screen welfare programs.

An anonymous official from the Trump administration told AP that potential drug testing would only apply to about 5% of those enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), targeting only able-bodied recipients without dependents and seeking specialized jobs.

United States Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue has publicly vowed to offer states “greater control over SNAP.”

“As a former governor, I know first-hand how important it is for states to be given flexibility to achieve the desired goal of self-sufficiency for people,” said Perdue. “We want to provide the nutrition people need, but we also want to help them transition from government programs, back to work, and into lives of independence.”

Trump signed an executive order calling for federal agencies to establish or strengthen existing work requirements for certain individuals who benefit from federal welfare programs.” A memo issued from the White House “argued those who rely on welfare would have an easier time achieving economic mobility through strengthened work requirements where they already exist and the creation of new ones where applicable.”

I’ve seen the bell curve on when unemployment insurance runs out. Suddenly 90% of those on insurance gets a job. It’s a miracle!!! it is pretty clear evidence that if you pay someone to do nothing, they will do an excellent job at that.

So if you ask me this is a good idea!

What do you think?
