President Trump stood tall and firm against all bullies when he signed the order to deploy National Guard to US-Mexico Border.
And, on Wednesday afternoon Gov. Jerry Brown issued a statement in which he confirmed that California will join Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico in sending National Guard troops to help secure the U.S.-Mexico border.
Via Washington Examiner: “In a letter to Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, the Democratic governor said he will accept federal funding and in turn send 400 guardsmen to assist Customs and Border Protection officers, as well as Border Patrol agents, at his state’s southern boundary.
“Your funding for new staffing will allow the Guard to do what it does best: support operations targeting transnational criminal gangs, human traffickers, and illegal firearm and drug smugglers along the border, the coast and throughout the state,” Brown said in a statement.
Combating these criminal threats are priorities for all Americans — Republicans and Democrats,” he added, noting that California assisted previous presidents, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, in similar situations.
“But let’s be crystal clear on the scope of this mission. This will not be a mission to build a new wall. It will not be a mission to round up women and children or detain people escaping violence and seeking a better life. And the California National Guard will not be enforcing federal laws,” he stressed.
Jerry Brown said he doesn’t want to see the troops used to build President Trump’s border wall or take part in immigration enforcement. Them being on the border to keep out illegal immigrants would be considered Immigration enforcement. However, this is the right thing to do. He’s a flake so I wonder what motivated him?
Probably because so many cities and county’s are challenging his sanctuary state laws. Real Americans have a voice!!
