Trey Gowdy – The Next Supreme Court Justice?!? This Is How

On Wednesday afternoon, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) who serves on the House Committees on Intelligence, Ethics, Oversight and Government Reform, and Judiciary, announced he would not be running for re-election to the House.

Gowdy wrote: “I will not be filing for re-election to Congress nor seeking any other political or elected office; instead I will be returning to the justice system. Whatever skills I may have are better utilized in a courtroom than in Congress, and I enjoy our justice system more than our political system. As I look back on my career, it is the jobs that both seek and reward fairness that are most rewarding.”

The same day Gowdy announced his pending departure from Congress and politics, a seat opened up on the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Judge Dennis W. Shedd, who serves on the Richmond, Virginia-based federal court, assumed senior status on Wednesday, meaning that he is leaving active service, though he will still be involved in some cases. And this might open the door for President Donald Trump to nominate Gowdy, a South Carolina Republican, to the court.

Many people gave their support for “Justice” Gowdy on Twitter:

Trey Gowdy is an amazing fighter! No doubt we haven’t heard the last from him. He’s moving on to another role somewhere that’s for sure!

Gowdy was true and honest which is rare in politics! He is a hard-working, honest person and goes after all the corruption. He is all about truth and justice no matter what.

No doubt he would make a great Supreme Court Justice. He definitely has the intellect for the job!!!

But, at the end…Whatever he becomes he deserves it.

Do you think Gowdy would make an amazing Supreme Court Justice?
