VIDEO: CNN Points Finger at Trump for DC Plane Crash—Ends Up Embarrassing Themselves
A horrifying tragedy unfolded last night when an American Airlines regional jet and an Army UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter collided over the Potomac River near Washington, D.C. The crash, which left no survivors, has led to a grim recovery effort, with at least 27 bodies pulled from the water so far. Among the passengers were several U.S. figure skating team members and coaches.
While first responders worked tirelessly to recover the victims, CNN wasted no time shifting the narrative—predictably blaming President Trump.
Anchor Abby Phillip attempted to tie the crash to the ongoing presidential transition, bizarrely suggesting that the lack of a Biden-appointed FAA administrator may have played a role.
“Look, it’s January 29th. We are just nine days out from a presidential transition… The FAA administrator resigned at the end of the Biden administration. So there is no permanent confirmed FAA administrator right now,” Phillip speculated.

However, former Department of Transportation Inspector General Mary Schiavo swiftly debunked this nonsense, clarifying that air traffic controllers remain in place regardless of an administration change.
“The politics of the situation should have had no impact whatsoever on air traffic controllers,” she responded.
But CNN wasn’t done embarrassing itself. Contributor Bakari Sellers joined in, sharing a screenshot referencing Trump’s federal hiring freeze and attempting to connect it to the disaster—before quickly deleting his post after facing backlash.
Even CNN alum Peter Hamby called out the absurdity, posting a “reality check” on X.
Social media erupted in outrage over CNN’s desperate attempt to weaponize a tragedy.
Rather than urging unity, CNN pounced on the tragedy to push its anti-Trump agenda. Absolutely disgusting.
