WATCH! Republican Senator Betrayed President Trump Over His ‘Treason’ Comments

On Tuesday, Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., a top critic of the president issued a blistering response to Trump’s
comments about Democrat’s treason. Flake criticized President Trump on the Senate floor after Trump suggested Monday that Democrats not applauding during his State of the Union speech was treason. Flake said that Trump’s remarks are “not normal.”

Even though The White House said that Trump was joking, Flake still attacked him, saying there’s nothing funny about treason, or the way Trump was trying to accuse Democrats of treason.

Flake questioned his colleagues, asking if they had grown “numb” to Trump’s behavior, and warned if they had grown numb, they would come to regret not standing up for their Senate colleagues.

Flake said: “I have seen the president’s most ardent defenders use the now weary argument that the president’s comments were meant as a joke, just sarcasm, only tongue-in-cheek, but treason is not a punch line.”

“One who levels such a charge knows neither the meaning of treason nor the power that the words of a president carry,” he said.

“And if we are numb to such words, then we will surely regret that we failed to defend our colleagues in the Congress against such a vile remark,” Flake said. “But our silence will also mark the day that we failed to recognize that this conduct in an American president simply is not normal.”

On Monday, Trump noted that “somebody” suggested Democrats were treasonous for not applauding after Trump noted the sharp drop in black unemployment levels. “Can we call that treason? Why not?” he asked.

But Flake said Trump misunderstands why people stand and clap during State of the Union addresses.

“Mr. President, respect is earned, not commanded,” he said. “Applause signals approval of an idea, not loyalty toward one’s country.”

The fact is Jeff Flake has been a fraud all along. He has betrayed President Trump, his supporters, and the Republican Party multiple times.

What we are having in America is people who say they are Republican and are running as Republican when actually they are going to think and agree with the Democrats. Doing this, they are really hurting the Republican Party!!

Senator Jeff Flake is a perfect example.

The Democrats sails are losing wind. People are beginning to tire of their whining, crying, and nay-saying. What have they done in the last couple of years to help their party except cry and whine?

I think the Dems are leaving their sinking ship, and they need to pull together and assist in building a better America or get out of politics. Their flock is leaving the nest and they will have no one to hear their whining and crying.

Can’t they see what they are doing to their party? Do they think that all their crying will save them? NO! They need to help build America And Make It Great Again or get lost in the shadows of success.
