ICE” Protester Who Climbed At The Statue Of Liberty Is Immigrant From Congo! (Video)

A woman partially climbed up the Statue of Liberty on Wednesday, prompting authorities to evacuated Liberty Island.

WNBC reported that the woman was seen scaling the statue after an “Abolish ICE” banner was unfurled below the statue.
United States Park Police public information officer Sgt. Dave Somma told WABC Liberty Island was evacuated as a precaution and that the woman made it to the midsection of the statue.

According to live video from WABC, the woman is sitting at the base of the statue, occasionally moving and waving a T-shirt. WNB reported that the shirt read “rise and resist,” which is the name of a non-profit activism organization.

WNBC reported that there was an “Abolish ICE” protest earlier in the day. United States Park Police arrested seven people from that rally. The banner and protest was organized by Rise and Resist NYC.

“Rise and Resist was at the Statue of Liberty demanding Trump and the GOP #AbolishICE, reunite families now, halt deportations, and end detention as a deterrent,” the group said in a Facebook post-Wednesday.

The group has denied any connection to the climber.

“The climber on the Statue of Liberty has no connection to our #abolishice action earlier today,” the group said on Twitter.

Some law Enforcement officials were seen preparing to climb up to the base of the statue and confront the woman, while the NYPD began building a rope rescue system.

A source told the broadcaster the system is being constructed because officers do not believe she’ll come down of her own volition.
Authorities identified the woman as Therese Okoumou, an immigrant from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

It is unclear whether she is here legally or illegally.

The Washington Times reported:

The woman who created a four-hour standoff on live TV by trying to climb the Statue of Liberty has been identified by authorities.

According to the New York Daily News, citing “officials,” the woman is Therese Okoumou.

The Daily News also reported that Ms. Okoumu is an immigrant from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

According to the Daily News, Ms. Okoumou will appear in Manhattan Federal Court on Thursday on numerous federal charges, albeit all misdemeanors.

“The charges are expected to be violation of national park regulations or public use limit; trespassing; disorderly conduct; and interfering with government functions,” the Daily News wrote.

If she was in Congo she would have been severely punished but here, she’ll be considered a celebrity and will make the MSM talk show circuit. Five lawyers will jump up to represent her just for the publicity.

This is just insane these people don’t have patriotic feelings for our country!

And those ICE protesters were there accidentally at the same time!

I don’t believe them they are all crazy and all of them should answer for this unpatriotic action!
