The Democratic National Committee Officially Serves Lawsuit to WikiLeaks Via Twitter
On Friday, the Democratic National Committee served lawsuit to WikiLeaks via Twitter. The DNC filed a motion with a federal court in Manhattan last month, requesting permission to serve its complaint to WikiLeaks on Twitter, a platform the DNC argued the website uses regularly.
“Because WikiLeaks has more of a virtual than a physical presence, the court can and should exercise its authority … to authorize service by Twitter,” the DNC argued in their request.
The lawsuit is based on WikiLeaks publishing their emails during the 2016 election and accuses the site of working with the Trump campaign and Russia to swing the 2016 election in President Trump’s favor.

WikiLeaks tweeted in April suggesting that the organization had received the DNC’s lawsuit, calling it frivolous, and it has reportedly not responded to any direct attempts at communication from DNC attorneys.

If the DNC wins this lawsuit, any media outlet that publishes leaked material could, in turn, be sued by the subject of their reporting.
“Some of the most important stories in contemporary journalism have come from media outlets obtaining and publishing materials that were taken without authorization or even in violation of the law. Both the New York Times and Washington Post published thousands of pages from the top-secret Pentagon Papers after Daniel Ellsberg took them without authorization from the Pentagon — and they won the right to publish them in the U.S. Supreme Court,” Glenn Greenwald wrote for the Intercept.
The DNC filed a lawsuit in April against the Trump campaign, Russian government and WikiLeaks, alleging a massive conspiracy to tilt the 2016 election in Donald Trump’s favor.
Well, since, they are bringing this up, I guess Maddow should get served for publishing POTUS’S tax documents. right?
This is going to backfire “HUGELY” on the DNC! The last thing THE DEMOCRATS want is to hear Assange testify before Congress UNDER OATH and in public. Assange is going to reveal all about the DNC and the Clinton crime family from day one.
The Dems are desperately grasping at straws… But they are all going down!
