Senior Republican Claims Donald Trump IS eligible For A Third Term
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) said he will appear on alongside Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday night to “explain” how President Trump “will be eligible for a 3rd term.”
Mr. Huckabee, the father of former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, made the explosive claim in a pair of tweets on Thursday afternoon in which he also said the US president was “eligible” for a third term due to congressional investigations into him.
“Greatly honored to be asked to chair @realDonaldTrump re-election campaign for @POTUS in 2024. Gives me lots of time to plan!” Mr Huckabee said without providing evidence.
He added: “I’ll be on @seanhannity 2nite @FoxNews at 9pm ET and will explain how @realDonaldTrump will be eligible for a 3rd term due to the illegal attempts by Comey, Dems, and media, et al attempting to oust him as @POTUS so that’s why I was named to head up the 2024 re-election.
Trump has long kidded, to the discomfort of Democrats, that he planned to hold onto the White House for years.
The Constitution says he can only serve two terms.
That means Trump can only be in office through January 2025.
But let’s wait and see what Mike has to say about it.
On the day the Mueller Report came out, for instance, Trump told participants of the Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride that the trophy they just gave him would be there for a decade or more.
‘This will find a permanent place, at least for six years, in the Oval Office,’ Trump told the group then. ‘I was going to say for at least 10 to 14 years. But we would cause bedlam, so we’ll say six,’ the president said.
