American COVID-19 Researcher Nearing ‘Very Significant Findings’ Dead In “Alleged” Murder-Suicide

Bing Liu, 37, was shot multiple times around noon Saturday inside his home in the 200 blocks of Elm Court.

He was fatally shot in his head, neck, and torso over the weekend in Ross Township, Pennsylvania, in what police are calling a murder-suicide, according to CBS Pittsburgh affiliate KDKA.

A second man, who police say knew Mr. Liu but did not identify, was found nearby in his car with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Ross Township detectives do not believe there is a suspect loose, KDKA reported.
Ross police Sgt. Brian Kohlhepp said the men knew each other but did not disclose how. He declined to comment on a possible motive, but said no other suspect is at large.
Liu worked as a research assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and was close to “making very significant findings” related to COVID-19.
“Liu was a very talented individual, extremely intelligent and hard-working,” said Ivet Bahar, the head of the computational and system biology department in Pitt’s School of Medicine.

“He has been contributing to several scientific projects, publishing in high-profile journals. He was someone whom we all liked very much, a very gentle, very helpful, kind person, very generous,” said Ms. Bahar, who has a doctorate in chemistry. “We are all shocked to learn what happened to him. This was very unexpected.”

In a statement, the Pitt department called Mr. Liu an outstanding and prolific researcher and an excellent mentor.

“Bing was on the verge of making very significant findings toward understanding the cellular mechanisms that underlie SARS-CoV-2 infection and the cellular basis of the following complications,” the statement read in part. “We will make an effort to complete what he started in an effort to pay homage to his scientific excellence.”

Don’t underestimate the possibility that the ‘suicide’ victim was murdered, too, to make it look like an open-and-shut case, to hide who the real killers are.

Just a coincidence that every time someone is on the verge of a discovery they end up dead. This could be just another conspiracy theory until proven otherwise but we gonna wait and report more on this story!
