Democratic Lawmaker Says Restaurant ‘Should Have Served’ Sanders, But Blames Trump For This Situation
I can’t imagine a society where people are refused service based on political affiliation. Here we have a perfect display of the Democrat’s version of Jim Crow laws. Even their civil rights legend says that it should not have happened.
On Sunday, Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings said the Virginia restaurant owner who asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders to leave this weekend should have served her instead.
“I think, as far as the restaurant incident, I think the restaurant owner should have served her,” said Cummings, the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee. “I really do. But, this tone is horrible. But again, I think President [Donald] Trump has created this. Since he became president and even before, he has basically given people license to state things that are ugly.”
He added policy issues should remain the focus of national discussion instead of rhetoric, but reiterated that the White House does not follow that line of thinking.
How did Trump create this? The media are telling the US that half of our country is Nazis. The left and the media are to blame for this hysteria. They are now showing their colors with their constant attacks against conservative women.
And yes, the restaurant should have served Mrs. Sanders and her family. It’s idiotic to think that everyone you conduct business with has to share the same political beliefs as you. Refusing service for political reasons is as bad as discriminating over race. It’s a business, a public facility, and by law must serve all. Because it is popular in this case does not make it right.
