White House Reporter Fell Asleep During Briefing, On Live TV (Video)

Press secretary Sarah Sanders declined to respond to reports that the President has privately floated the idea of the Department of Defense paying for the wall, saying that the wall’s construction is “ongoing.”

“I can’t get into the specifics of that at this point but I can tell you that the continuation of building the wall is ongoing and we’re going to continue moving forward in that process,” she said.

Asked again whether he wants the military to pay for the border wall, she said, “Again, I’m not going to get into the specifics of that but I can tell you that the wall is continuing to be built currently and we’re going to keep pushing forward until it’s fully completed in the way that the President feels is necessary to defend the country.”

But the boring briefing got very interesting when John Gizzi fell asleep!

John Gizzi did what many Americans do every day, namely get a little sleepy in the PM.

Unfortunately for the Newsmax chief political correspondent, his bout of the near-shut eye came in the middle of White House press briefing. And was broadcast on national television.

When asked for comment, Gizzi told The Daily Caller he was actually getting lunch after the briefing and did not actually fall asleep.

“I have nodded off before but I assure you I didn’t today,” he explained. “People ask me this often and anyone on either side of me –Sara Cook of NHK, today — will tell you I was up and at ’em.”

You win some, you lose some.

Either way, this will all get drowned out by the media asking questions about what sex positions POTUS and Stormy Daniels prefer.
