Video: A Man In A “Bucket Hat” Tried To Commit An Armed Robbery – However MAMA Bear Mode Was Activated

Police are on the hunt for an armed would-be robber after the man confronted a mother and son at a service station before an extraordinary act of bravery saved the pair.

The terrifying situation unfolded at a gas station in Tweed Valley Way, Murwillumbah on the NSW North Coast on Tuesday afternoon.

The mother and her 17-year-old son were behind the counter when the robber entered with a firearm.

The man shot at the roof before the woman courageously came out from behind the counter and confronted him.

The store’s manager Kim Hall told Channel Nine the man ran out of the store while the woman chased him away.

Video below:

Nobody was injured, and the man drove off in a white vehicle empty-handed.

A short time later, police attempted to stop the vehicle on Byangum Road in Murwillumbah.

When it failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated; however, this was soon terminated for safety reasons.
