Video Appears To Show Pelosi Practicing “Rip Heard Round The World”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., made headlines around the world by tearing up a copy of President Trump’s State of the Union once he finished his address Tuesday night, but that moment was just one example of how Pelosi made her disdain for the president known for all to see.
Throughout the evening, Pelosi was seen fidgeting, often pursing her lips or making faces, or shuffling through the pages of Trump’s SOTU speech — like a petulant child, she would rip it in half at the end.
This prompted a strong rebuke from George Washington University Law professor Jonathan Turley, who was the sole Republican witness at the final House Judiciary hearing on impeachment.
“Pelosi’s act dishonored the institution and destroyed even the pretense of civility and decorum in the House. If this is the Speaker’s “drop the mike” moment, it is a disgrace that should never be celebrated or repeated. In a single act, she obliterated decades of tradition,” Turley tweeted.
Vice President Mike Pence said she had planned to tear up a copy of President Trump’s State of the Union speech.
She firmly denied these “rumors”.
A spokesperson for Pelosi insisted that her ripping up the text of Donald Trump’s speech was not pre-planned.
‘The Vice President’s complicity in last night’s reality show is disgusting. He is in no position to lecture anyone about the Constitution, decorum or respect as he cheerleads the mistruths of his master,’ Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill told DailyMail.com.
But a video surfaced that shows that she made tiny tears into her copy of President Trump’s State of the Union address — so that her speech-ripping moment could go off without a hitch.
Photos of the sheets of paper show them face down on the table with small slits on the side, near where Pelosi would eventually rip them into pieces.

“Nancy Pelosi may have just committed a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2071, Section 2071 (a) when she ripped up President Trump’s State of the Union address,” Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk wrote in a Feb. 4 tweet. “This violation is punishable by up to three years in prison.”
But the left-wing fast checker PolitiFact quickly denied those allegations.
